Christianity and War by Laurence M. Vance

Christianity and War by Laurence M. Vance
In this time of rampaging profiteering that drives the military power complex the opposite, and correct view, in my humble opinion needs to be presented.
What possible good can come of our interfering with a country's internal process. When we do something to someone else that we would, hopefully, not tolerate
being done to ourselves, what does say of our integrity?
Exercise our freedom to destroy others' right to determine their own destiny?
Hopefully we can still remain to be an example for others to follow.

Norwegian censorship

{EAV_BLOG_VER:7c68fb1b9b8bf088}
Some retailers in Norway apparently are taking two violent computer games off the shelf. Why?
Their response is that the murderous Breivik 'used' these to 'hone' his skills. Although I don't agree with the playing of these violent and gory scenarios I also don't agree that they foster insane actions either.
Movies like SAW, HALLOWEEN, books like IT and Mike Slade's fare, or games like Mortal Kombat didn't create or encourage a generation of killers.
It may have desensitized individuals to be less empathetic, but then being trained by the military does that very effectively as well. As it was designed. If the argument had any validity then citizens of countries with mandatory military service would be all murderers.
Common on folks! A nut bar is still a nut bar! Or is this just the beginning strategy of a legal defense of the indefensible?

Culture of war

{EAV_BLOG_VER:7c68fb1b9b8bf088}
I have been a fan of war movies a long time so I don't pretend to be innocent when it comes to being indoctrinated. As I was growing up I would hear stories from relatives and my dad about the European conflict. He was a teenager during those years.
Due to my heritage perhaps I was interested in why events happened the way they did. I was even enamoured with the whole nationalistic theme. The folly of youth!
Not until later did I start to realize the whole concept of propaganda involved! Now an entire industry is based on digital warfare entertainment. That's along with the daily scenarios updated by the talking heads on network television. Enemies are friends, friends are enemies. Who's to say?
Hopefully we can decipher this mess before we are led down a path of no return.
